Our area is famous for its spectacular scenery, beautiful unspoilt beaches, and the hospitality of its people. Ardara is a designated Heritage Town and also a well known centre for the manufacture of Donegal homespun tweeds. The area boasts a thriving tourist trade and social scene, and has been dubbed "The Festival Capital of Donegal" as well as being a designated Heritage Town. If you are hoping to visit the area, we offer you a hearty welcome. If you are from Ardara and are living elsewhere, we hope we can keep you up to date with the goings on from your home parish as often as possible. Best of luck to Michael Maguire and co on the Big 10k Charity Run/Walk on the 21st of April aka the 'Ardarathon'. The event was launched on Friday 3rd of February in the Nesbitt Arms. All proceeds will go to Our Ladys Childrens Hospital and the Charlie Bennett Memorial Fund. Sponsorship cards are available locally for these great causes. Congratulations to Packie Maguire, who was elected as an Honorary Vice President of CLG Ard an Ratha on Saturday 28th of January at the Club A.G.M. Packie replaces his friend the late Billy Maxwell in the position alongside John Keeney. Frankie Brennan was returned as Club President. Peter Mc Loughlin of Clogher was elected as the new Club Treasurer in what was the only change on the committee.
